About Sherly Taught Spanish
Founded in 2021 by Sherly Velázquez, Sherly Taught Spanish is an online Spanish school based in Puerto Rico, created to bring language and culture together. We work with students worldwide, helping them learn Spanish in a way that feels real, personal, and connected.
Our approach goes beyond grammar, focusing on everyday language, authentic expression, and cultural connection, because learning Spanish should feel natural, meaningful, y con ese sazón boricua. We’re especially passionate about helping Puerto Ricans from the diaspora and bilingual families reconnect with their roots through language, culture, and comunidad.

Sherly is one of the best Spanish teachers I’ve had without a doubt. It’s nearly impossible to find teachers who can teach Puerto Rican Spanish so I am very grateful that I found her. She’s puts great effort into each lesson and is always available to help with questions outside of the class. I’ve had a few spanish teachers in the past but I’ve found her to be the most helpful, professional, and fun to learn from. She’s great with giving contextual/cultural knowledge to stuff that you can’t really find on Google or anywhere else. It’s been much easier for me to communicate with my Puerto Rican family and friends and that’s been a blessing. Also I think pricing is very fair and affordable. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to level up their Spanish.
